Small Business Certification Obtained
MVE received SBE (Small Business Enterprise) certification from the State of California as of April 28, 2010. The certification will generate exciting new project opportunities for MVE as many public projects require small business participation. “MVE will utilize this certification to garner additional municipal infrastructure work as both a prime and sub consultant,” says MVE’s Kirk DeLaMare, President/CEO “We look forward to improving our current relationships with large firms and other potential SBE partners, as well as government agencies.”

MVE Awarded California's Top Public Projects
MVE is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the surveying/construction staking services for 4 of the top 10 public projects awarded in December. McGraw-Hill Construction released December 2009's top 10 public project awards in California; of those top ten, six projects did not require MVE's surveying services as they were provided by Caltrans or the General Contractor's staff. Therefore, MVE was awarded the only four projects that could be won by an independent surveying firm.
Antlers Bridge Replacement Project (Caltrans)
MVE will be providing Tutor-Saliba with construction staking services for this Caltrans project located in Lakehead, CA. Construction is currently anticipated to begin in late 2009 with completion in five years. The estimated construction costs is $125 Million.
This project proposes to replace the Sacramento River (Antlers) Bridge on Interstate 5 in Shasta County over the Sacramento River arm of Shasta Lake near the community of Lakehead. The new structure will be a 1,942 foot long, 104 feet wide five span concrete bridge. This challenging structure will be constructed on a new parallel alignment slightly east of the existing bridge. In addition, a 0.4 mile long section of highway south of the bridge will be realigned and the existing 1,330 foot long concrete decked, steel truss structure will be demolished and removed. Traffic will remain on the existing bridge during construction.
