Big Notch Project
Client:
Goodfellow Bros.
MVE continues work on the Yolo Bypass Salmonid Habitat Restoration and Fish Passage Project, known as the “Big Notch” Project. The project aims to reconnect floodplain habitat and improve passage for salmon and sturgeon. Key components include constructing a new headworks structure and an outlet channel, allowing juvenile salmon to access food-rich areas.
Upon completion, the project will open a gated passage when the Sacramento River flows into the Yolo Bypass floodplain, supporting the recovery of endangered fish species and reducing flood risk.
Location:
Yolo County, CA
