MVE provided consulting services for the improvements of Oakdale Road from Claribel Avenue to Morrill Avenue, approximately 1.25 miles. Oakdale Road is a major four lane arterial servicing the southwest area of the City of Riverbank providing a major transportation link from Highway 108 to the City of Modesto. The project was funded with a combination of City Capital Facility Fees and County Roadway Improvement Fees. MVE assisted the City in acquiring the County Roadway Fees.

 Multiple entities and agencies were involved with the project including; the City of Riverbank, County of Stanislaus, City of Modesto, PG &E, Modesto Irrigation District (MID), Browman Development Co.-- developer of the adjacent 90-acre regional shopping center, Riverbank Crossroads, LLC - developer of the adjacent 1,500 lot Crossroads Masterplan Community, and multiple landowners were involved throughout the life of the project.

MVE has hired for the surveying of 12+ miles of Interstate 5 for Caltrans improvements from Charter Way to the North Gateway Interchange. The project involved Static GPS Network survey and adjustments, high resolution ortho-photography, supplemental ground surveys, bathymetric surveys, surveys for over and under crossings and right-of-way mapping.

The horizontal project control consisted of five project control points being tied to five high control points. Caltrans second-order Horizontal GPS Specifications were followed using Trimble 5700 and 5800 Survey GPS Receivers. For photogrammetric control, Caltrans third-order (horizontal) RTK Specifications were met following the procedures in the Caltrans Survey Manual Section 6. For vertical control, Caltrans Second-Order RTK/Fast Static Specifications were met utilizing NAVD 88 Datum.

MVE worked closely with District 10 Surveyors and was responsible for the ABC preparation and submittals including GPS Survey Report, strip layout diagrams showing location of ground control and analytical points within each model, Aerotriangulation Bundle Block Report, including an ASCII file for approach assumptions, rejection criteria, summary image residual statistics, control intersection residuals and final calculated ground point coordinates; ground point file and exterior orientation file.

All field and office survey procedures were conducted per the Caltrans Survey Manual. All materials were submitted to Caltrans headquarters office of Photogrammetry (DOP) for approval.

MVE’s engineers prepared the design plans for this 1.5 mile road widening project, including curb, gutter, sidewalk, storm drainage, water and sewer plans. MVE also prepared round-about design, water line extension, grading and utility plans.

MVE provided consulting services for the City of Ripon as it sought to perform improvements on Main Street (from Jack Tone to Acacia Roads) and Stockton Avenue (from Main to Fifth Streets). MVE coordinated with the City (and other consultants) through various project meetings on the rehabilitation of the roadway.

One of the key components in making the project a success was community involvement. MVE assisted the City with several community workshops to encourage involvement including preparation of pamphlets and exhibits for presentation.

MVE prepared the design for the 1.5 mile stretch of roadway through the middle of town including design of curb, gutter, sidewalk, storm drainage, water and sewer improvements. The project design also included raised intersections which created unique design constraints and LED lighted crosswalk systems. The other unique element was coordination of driveway improvements for over 20 residences, businesses and an elementary school. Since this was a rehabilitation project existing constraints considerably controlled the design.

MVE also proved topographic and boundary surveys for the entire length of the existing roadway alignment and assisted the City with Rule 20 coordination and design.

MVE is performing construction staking services for the Casa Grande-Tucson Highway project. The proposed interchange is to provide connections with I-10 for Twin Peaks Road on the west side of the Santa Cruz River and Linda Vista Boulevard and Camino de Mañana on the east side.
